As it always has been this journal is only here for reading fics, keeping track of them as well as for commenting.
I am in no way a creative person or have any urge to express myself in words to an wider audience, but I immensely enjoy reading. So therefor I am here :) Even though I won't post anything myself I'd love to talk, so don't hesitate to contact me

Most of the fic I have read is collected in my delicious account since 2008. The stuff from all the years before is scattered on my hard drive and in my mind

As I got nothing else to do aka I desperately need to procrastinate, here are some recs to be made. 
In the usual style: sorted by fandom and then just by randomness and with words in which I can't explain the awesome.

First: Suits
It's a monster of fic I am still reading and am not afraid to already rec it! Tada, this tornado loves you by smallacts.
Here you get a slightly different and much more detailled backstory of Mike. When you got a bond like he has with Trevor and Jenny, you might not need anything else. But what happens when the highschool days & the easy life and (self-destructive) relationships are over?

summary: A story about first loves and true loves, about friendship, growing up, and growing together. Atlernatively, this is a story about Mike figuring out what he deserves, and learning how to ask for it. (AU)

Eventually it will be Harvey/Mike. (I still haven't got to that!)


Disturbing the Peace by grim_lupine.
Harvey, you need to learn, when there's mutual attraction there's nothing you can do to prevent it!

Continental Drift by rangerdanger / pidgeoned.
Summary says: Mike and Harvey are in a relationship. They just don't know it yet. But still, they're fucking! 
Sorry, I can't deny it, this is one of my favourite tropes. Read it!

Or Down You Fall by sam_storyteller.
Wow, I can't remember what it's about, but it has the tag 'torec', so it has to be worth it.
Summary: Drug testing at Pearson Hardman does not have its desired preventative effect. (Sex, drugs, and a little bit of Soul.)

Second, my true love: Inception
The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized by the_ragnarok_d which was started on the kink meme.
It has alpha/omega dynamics, knotting, heats, lactation kink, mpreg and all the stuff. But at the same time politics, a disappointed and hurt by people Arthur, a caring Eames and a revolution. Not to mention all the world-building, characterisation, massive insinuations and implications mentioned in passing.
Even if the above mentioned kinks are not your's (please, lactation, OMG, I can't stand it) I highly recommend to read it, because it's such exquisite writing in a thought-out plot.

The afternoon I realised I might be in love, I read this fic. So my (always subjective) judgement might be slightly compromised. 
It's just how I like my Inception fic. Some mature men who won't admit to their feelings but are not afraid to cuddle. Even if it still needs an excuse. 

All the same goes for A Series of One Night Stands by cmonkatiekatie. I love fuck buddies turning into feelings. All the ever love for that!

Summary: It wasn’t art, only a coping mechanism, something that steadied his mind with its simplicity. or, Arthur draws Eames a lot.
Btw: the prompt on (at?) the kink meme got some  brilliant art.

It might be an AU, but still Wait and Know the Coming of a Little Love by maybe77, known on the kink meme as the bully!AU, is an amazing read!
It's an highschoolAU in which Arthur and Eames are neighbours and in a slighty abusive and imbalanced relationship. Basically: Eames has an abusive mother and comes over to Arthur's at night for sex and comfort. In daylight he won't awknowledge to anything.

Quietus has again a slightly different social structure and dynamics.
Even though it's set in the Inception universe as we know it, it has slaves. Here we have slave!Eames with a troubled past who's master is Cobb and works as a forger for them on the run. And then there's Arthur who might slowly fall in love with Eames' character as it was before he was beaten down by slavery.
My description is again insufficient and doesn't come up to it's brilliant worldbuilding.
Note: it's still WIP!


Third:
On another note: I am massively disappointed by the delicious fail and won't use it anymore. Diigo is shit as well, so I am niandra_joan @pinboard. Even though I am not much of a fan of the layout. But who can't be in love with the owner, Maciej.

1. Life
Fucking hell, August is over! One of the busiest months for me this year so far. All with going to festivals; having social stuff; searching, finding and worrying for a new room; moving and clearing a whole flat with all the hangups; helping to organise a four-day team meeting for 100 people; working in another city; driving across the country for job interviews; fighting with my dad about money; having drunk emotional and nervous breakdowns & not to forget worrying about masters thesis which should have been due last week.

Now most of the stuff is resolved and I am in my room in the new flat, which can't compare to the old and perfect one as I become more and more high maintenance.

Instead of working on ~all the important stuff I am working through all what happened in fandom and fics and am trying to get a hold on old & new TV shows (September, my dear, you'll give me back a weekly routine by providing a watching schedule).

2. Recs
Here are some fics for which I avoided cleaning moving boxes:

carry it in my heart by robin_pulaski - an epic Social Network fic which got recced to me and gave me all I need from TSN: a social awkward building-up of a relationship, two people in love and a happy ending.

Trouble with Dreams by sparkledark - do I really need to rec it? It has my heart

School of Life by trafficsong - as it often goes, when do one decide to click on a fic? Most often these days I'll definitely open a new tab when I've read something by the author before or when there's an interesting title or summary (why do people decide to post a fic to comms without a summary??).
In this case both didn't apply and especially the title and summary would normally be a scroll-by for me. Somehow the author's name ringed something and the layout is nice to read in.
As it seems there's no happy ending; but who needs that? People are asking for a sequel or another part, but for me this one has a new, different approach. Not all the narrative threads have to be resolved. I like the fragmental design.

And I blame delires for hooking me onto South Park fic. The first epic one I read was by formerdinosaur's The Scenic Route (aka snooter) for which I have so many feelings, but one major point of critique is that it goes on and on. Great for the enthusiastic and addicted reader (aka me) but in my opinion it's not always in favour for the fic itself.

As not a lot of people seem to have stumbled upon it I need to rec some fics for the first time!

An anon wrote the wonderful fic called A Picture Tells A Thousand Tales: the relationship of Arthur&Eames through the eyes of Saito, Ariadne, Nash, Yusuf and Cobb. It easily could be canon back story and puts on a new light on their interactions throughout the movie.

Another lovely fic is Between Your Thighs (Is My Favourite Place To Be) by an anon as well. Intercural sex is always a YAY for me, and written like this even more. So many feelings and implications in so few words and scenes!

And then there's lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones; still a WIP and currently in part 3 out of probably 6. It should be warned that in this Arthur has non-treatable cancer and Eames stands by his side. Fabulous writing but heart-wrenching!
